SUBARU OF AMERICA AND NATIONAL PARKS CONSERVATION ASSOCIATION TAKE HOME 2020 SILVER HALO AWARD FOR BEST SUSTAINABILITY INITIATIVE

Subaru of America, Inc., along with the National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA), have been awarded the 2020 Silver Halo Award in the ‘Best Sustainability Initiative’ category by Engage for Good. Subaru and NPCA were recognized for the Don’t Feed the Landfills initiative, an environmentally-focused campaign dedicated to preserving national parks.

Subaru of America has worked with NPCA and the National Park Foundation (NPF) toward a shared goal of reducing landfill waste in America’s national parks, since 2015.

Hughes Middle School Green Summit

On November 16, 2019, Timmons Subaru partnered with Science teachers at Hughes Middle School to participate in a special event known as Green Summit where support staff, students, and their parents were educated on sustainability efforts and the environmentally-friendly approach to reduce, reuse and recycle materials each and every day. They were also instructed on the process of properly recycling eligible materials in schools.

Subaru Born Green - The Zero-Waste Factory

Taking a look inside the very first zero-landfill factory in the U.S.


Since 2004, the Subaru of Indiana Automotive, Inc. factory has proven to be one of the greatest success stories in sustainability. Before implementing a more environmentally-friendly approach to production, the factory was generating approximately 240 pounds of waste per vehicle.
