What is the Subaru Love Promise?

Subaru and our retailers believe in making the world a better place and the Subaru Love Promise is our vision of respecting all people. This is our commitment to show love and respect to our customers and to work to make a positive impact in the world.

The Subaru Love Promise Community Commitment

We believe in being a positive force in something bigger. And it all starts right here in our community. Not just by our donations, but by our actions.

That's why we stay true to our Love Promise Community Commitment by partnering with a wide variety of community nonprofits and charities.

Every year, we join hands with our owners in the "Share the Love" event, giving back to our community-a community that's given so much to us.

So, every day, we strive to ensure our love is felt not just by our customers, but by all in our community. We do this because we feel it is the right thing to do.

We are proud to participate in the Love Promise Community Commitment. We're grateful, not only to be a part of our community, but to serve and support the causes and passions that are closest to our hearts, right here in our neighborhood.

All of the organizations we support have one thing in common: the unwavering dedication to improve the world and the lives of its people.

Love Promise Stories from Timmons Subaru

Honoring Our Fallen  –  Jennifer S

Honoring Our Fallen

Honoring Our Fallen is a not for profit organization that provides support for families of our fallen military and first responders. This organization’s comprehensive support begins within 24 hours of notification by local, state, or federal officials. Honoring our Fallen immediately determines the family’s needs and works as a calming force in the face of a family’s time of chaos. CEO and life blood behind Honoring Our Fallen, Laura Herzog realized there was a gap between the military requirements and the assistance needed by the families left behind. Honoring Our Fallen bridges this gap with support from the transfer of dignified remains, and continues with ongoing events such as retreats for children, spouses, and parents that allow them to find support from others who are enduring the same loss. Timmons displayed a tree filled with pictures of fallen heroes sent from Gold Star families across the country. Timmons and Honoring Our Fallen organized a snow day and toy drive for Gold Star families and guests. Several tons of snow was brought in allowing children to play and hold a snowball fight. Santa greeted attendees and posed for pictures. Timmons Subaru is proud to be a part of this boots on the ground operation that provides assistance to families that have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Proceeds from our Share the Love Event will fund future programs such as, A Flag for Every Hero, Operation Stitches of Love, Bring a Family a Meal, and continuing work on the Honoring Our Fallen Memorial Wall located at the local Rosie the Riveter Park. Timmons Delivery at Miller Children's Hospital  –  Toni H

Timmons Delivery at Miller Children's Hospital

Last year, we here at LLS fell in love with April, the GM, and her team at Timmons, so we were so excited to see that they were back this year! We were able to set their blanket delivery up at Miller Children's Hospital. When we arrived at Miller Children's we were welcomed by Allison, a veteran child life specialist. She was kind enough to let us deliver the blankets directly to the patients. In the playroom, the Timmons crew were thrilled to meet many pediatric oncology patients and directly give them a blanket and a craft kit. The Timmons team spent time talking and coloring with the patients. Then we made the rounds to the rooms to see the patients who weren't feeling up to coming to the playroom. Their faces lit up when they received the gifts, and you could see how much it meant to the Timmons teams as well. We met several children, however, many were a bit camera shy. Nonetheless, we met Bella who loved the camera... until we actually snapped the photo. :) I have to say in my 2.5 years at LLS, this was one of the most rewarding experiences I have had. What made the experience even more special, was the beautiful thank you note the hospital sent: "A blanket becomes a transitional object for patients that reminds them of the comforts of home, the caring touch of someone who cares and the concept of bringing something home with them that will pleasantly remind them of their healthcare experience." Thank you Timmons Subaru!!!!!!!!

A Promise of Love & Bravery  –  Jennifer S

A Promise of Love & Bravery

Timmons and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society teamed up to bring messages of hope, blankets, and craft kits to those battling blood cancers at Miller Children’s Hospital. Timmons and the LLS team received a tour of the children’s wing and met children from 18 months to 20 years in age. They met artists, athletes, and rock stars. They met families who show no sign of surrender. They met the staff members who work every day to care for the body and spirit of these beautiful warriors. They saw familiar faces too. “We were able to see little Bella again. We met her and her mother at last year’s Toy Jam Event.” said Jennifer Sauer. Bella’s mom explained, “She will be turning 3 in September but will need to be in isolation for her birthday. She is having a stem cell transplant and will need to be kept in isolation for up to a year while her immune system recovers. It will be difficult but we always say that cancer didn’t know who it was messing with when it comes to our Bella.” She points to her T-Shirt that displays their Team Bella logo. “We will definitely be supporting the LLS Event again next year.” Said April Somers. “Miller Children’s Hospital has always been dear to us. Toni and the rest of the LLS team have been amazing. We will continue our promise of support.” Plus there was a special promise made to one young man. “I told him to see me when he is out of the hospital and I will take him out in a new WRX.” Said Cathy Price. “He said he will be seeing me soon!"

1 Too Many- Long Beach Animal Care Services  –  Jennifer S

1 Too Many- Long Beach Animal Care Services

This not for profit organization’s mission is to serve, protect and shelter homeless companion animals. They promote responsible pet ownership and reduction in animal over population as well as celebrate the human-animal bond. Timmons Subaru is proud to have hosted their Third Annual Pet Adoption Event with the 1 Too Many Long Beach Animal Care Service’s crew and volunteers. Several dogs and cats were placed into loving forever homes. Jessica Gonzales, Marketing and Outreach Coordinator responded to the busy event with, “I am so grateful that we had so many adoptions and we really owe it all to Timmons Subaru! We also had the most volunteers donate their time with us at this event because they were eager and excited to try and get as many of our animals adopted.” Subaru owners consider their ‘pets’ part of the family which was apparent from the overwhelming participation from Timmons Subaru’s customers. April Somers, General Manager of Timmons of Long Beach is overjoyed to know not only did many of the animals find homes, but also how the event highlighted 1 Too Many’s work and involvement within our community. She stated, “We are happy to have Long Beach Animal Services as our Share the Love Event Local Charity. We know the donations will be put to good use.” You can donate or volunteer year around. Miller Children's & Women's Hospital Long Beach  –  Jennifer S

Miller Children's & Women's Hospital Long Beach

Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital is a not-for-profit, pediatric teaching hospital. They treat more than 8,000 children each year and has become a regional pediatric destination for more than 84,000 children who need specialized care in the outpatient specialty centers. For 15 years Timmons of Long Beach has been holding an annual Toy Jam Event. The staff as well as customers and vendors donate toys for the kids. There is a special raffle with prizes donated by the Timmons family. All proceeds from the raffle go directly to the hospital which Rita Goshert, Clinical Operations Manager says helps to keep the toy program going through the months when they receive little to no toy donations. The morning’s event is wrapped up with participants driving the toys to the kids led by a police escort. The kids have a great time coming out and seeing the cars and receiving the gifts. The extra toys are tucked away to brighten the days of other children who need the hospital’s services. Timmons Subaru hosts the event every October or November. Call us if you would like to volunteer for our next Toy Jam.

Subaru & California Southland Chapter of LLS  –  Toni H

Subaru & California Southland Chapter of LLS

When we here at the California Southland (CalSo) Chapter of LLS heard about the Subaru Loves to Care partnership, we immediately knew that we had to send the blankets to City of Hope. We have had a so many patients who are near and dear to us treated at City of Hope. One patient in particular who has truly inspired our chapter is five-year-old, Aubrey. She was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) at age 2 after experiencing a week long on and off temperature concentrated in her stomach area. Aubrey was treated at City of Hope, where she completed treatment on July 12, 2015. She will begin first grade in August, and she loves going to hula dance lessons and ballet. Her favorite color is blue. And because of amazing partners like Subaru, we know that Aubrey will one day fulfill her dream of seeing the Eiffel Tower. I have attached her picture. When we shared this partnership with our Chapter, all of our campaigns wanted to be involved to show their thanks and support. Your generosity has meant the world to not only our LLS volunteers, but to the staff and patients at City of Hope. We documented this journey from sign making to blanket delivery to Subaru’s impact. Thank you to Subaru National and the four dealerships from our area who donated the blankets: Puente Hills Subaru, Sierra Subaru of Monrovia, Subaru of Glendale, and Timmons Subaru. We hope you enjoy what this small chapter from Los Angeles has put together for you!

Pet Adoption at Timmons Subaru  –  April S

Pet Adoption at Timmons Subaru

To the one of many causes we care about pet adoption. Timmons Subaru recently held their Second Annual Pet Adoption Day at the dealership. This event was in association with Long Beach Animal Care Services, the local charity Timmons Subaru chose to support for the "Share the Love Event". Long Beach Animal Care Services, along with the ASPCA, Friends of Long Beach Animals, Timmons Subaru customers, Go Country 105, and even Santa, joined in to support the adoption of companion animals. There are so many dogs and cats that need to be adopted. One dog in particular, Emma (6), who suffers from cancer, was lucky enough to be adopted that day into a loving family and home. While this is only one example, Timmons Subaru raised thousands of dollars that will go directly to Long Beach Animal Care Services from customers who purchased a new Subaru from Timmons during the "Share the Love Event".
